UNICEF, για κάθε παιδί
Καράκας, 7 Ιουλίου 2017.- Αναφορικά με τη συμμετοχή παιδιών και εφήβων σε κοινωνικές διαδηλώσεις στη Βενεζουέλα, που κάποιες φορές καταλήγουν σε βιαιοπραξίες, η UNICEF επαναλαμβάνει την ανησυχία της σχετικά με την έκθεσή τους σε καταστάσεις που θέτουν σε κίνδυνο τη σωματική και συναισθηματική τους ακεραιότητα.
Τα παιδιά και οι έφηβοι έχουν κάθε δικαίωμα να συμμετέχουν και να εκφράζουν την άποψή τους σε θέματα που τα αφορούν, σύμφωνα και με τη Σύμβαση για τα Δικαιώματα του Παιδιού. Σύμφωνα με την αρχή της κοινής ευθύνης για την προστασία του παιδιού, το Κράτος, οι οικογένειες και η ίδια η κοινωνία έχουν ένα σημαντικό ρόλο προστασίας και προώθησης της προοδευτικής εφαρμογής των δικαιωμάτων στο πλαίσιο αξιών, όπως η ανοχή, η ειρηνική επίλυση των διαφορών και η αρμονική συνύπαρξη.
Η UNICEF απευθύνει έκκληση στους ηγέτες, σε αυτούς που συγκαλούν τις διαδηλώσεις και τους συμμετέχοντες σε αυτές να προσπαθήσουν ώστε αυτές να είναι ειρηνικές και μαζί με τις οικογένειες να υπάρξει σωστή καθοδήγηση των παιδιών και των εφήβων ώστε να αποφευχθεί η έκθεσή τους σε απειλητικές καταστάσεις. Ομοίως, η UNICEF καλεί το εθνικό σύστημα προστασίας να διπλασιάσει τις προσπάθειες ώστε να εξασφαλιστεί η αποτελεσματική προστασία των παιδιών και η κατοχύρωση των δικαιωμάτων τους σε όλους τους τομείς που εμπλέκονται στη δυναμική των διαδηλώσεων.Η UNICEFεπαναλαμβάνει τη βούλησή της να ενισχύσει, στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος που έχει συμφωνήσει η χώρα, την απαραίτητη συνεργασία για την διασφάλιση της προστασίας των παιδιών και των εφήβων.

Unicef, para cada niño
Caracas, 7 de julio de 2017.- Ante la participación de niños, niñas y adolescentes en manifestaciones sociales en Venezuela que en ocasiones terminan en acciones violentas, UNICEF reitera su preocupación por su exposición a riesgos para la integridad física y emocional.Los niños, niñas y adolescentes tienen derecho a participar y expresar su opinión sobre cuestiones que les afectan, de acuerdo a la Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño. Bajo el principio de corresponsabilidad en la protección de la niñez, el Estado, las familias y la sociedad tienen el rol de asegurar su protección y de fomentar el ejercicio progresivo de los derechos en el marco de valores tales como la tolerancia, la resolución pacífica de conflictos, y la convivencia armónica.
UNICEF insta a los dirigentes, convocantes y participantes en manifestaciones públicas a que éstas sean pacíficas y a que, junto con las familias, orienten apropiadamente a niños, niñas y adolescentes y eviten su exposición a situaciones de amenaza. Igualmente, UNICEF llama al sistema nacional de protección a redoblar esfuerzos para garantizar de forma efectiva la protección de la niñez y la difusión de sus derechos entre todos los sectores implicados en la dinámica de las manifestaciones. ;
UNICEF reitera su disposición a fortalecer, en el marco del programa de país acordado, la cooperación necesaria para asegurar la protección de niñas, niños y adolescentes.

Caracas, July 7, 2017 .- With the participation of children and adolescents in social demonstrations in Venezuela that sometimes end in violent actions, UNICEF reiterates its concern about its exposure to risks to physical and emotional integrity. Children and adolescents have the right to participate and express their opinion on issues that affect them, in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Under the principle of co-responsibility in the protection of children, the State, families and society have the role of ensuring their protection and promoting the progressive exercise of rights within the framework of values such as tolerance, peaceful resolution of conflicts, and harmonious coexistence.
UNICEF urges leaders, conveners and participants in public demonstrations to make them peaceful, and together with families, appropriately orientate children and adolescents and avoid their exposure to threatening situations. Likewise, UNICEF calls on the national protection system to redouble its efforts to effectively guarantee the protection of children and the dissemination of their rights among all sectors involved in the dynamics of the demonstrations.UNICEFreiterates its willingness to strengthen, under the agreed country program, the necessary cooperation to ensure the protection of children and adolescents.
